2008 Miss Rodeo New Mexco PageantThe MISS RODEO NEW MEXICO PAGEANT provides the opportunity for young women to participate in a positive competition, which promotes our western heritage, furthers the sport of rodeo, and spreads good will for their communities, the "Land of Enchantment" and their nation. These experiences enrich their lives and lay a solid foundation for their future.

The young woman who is selected as Miss Rodeo New Mexico has limitless value to our State. During her reign, she is the State's official representative of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), and as such she should constantly be aware of the importance of public relations between the general public and to all she comes in contact with who are actively involved in pro-rodeo. The experiences she has as she travels across our state and other parts of the country can be ones which will enrich her life in countless ways and create memories to last a lifetime, as well as prepare her for the competition in Las Vegas. Likewise, the experiences gained by the younger titleholders will enrich their lives in many ways.

Who is Miss Rodeo New Mexico and Miss Rodeo New Mexico Teen?
The titleholder symbolizes the youth of our State who wish to further promote the sport of rodeo, and in so doing, promote the great western way of life. She is the ideal western type American girl, and is a person who will represent rodeo as she travels the length and breadth of our country.

Who is Miss Rodeo New Mexico Princess and Little Miss Rodeo New Mexico?
The titleholder symbolizes the younger youth of our State who wish to promote the sport of rodeo, and in so doing, promote the great western way of life. She is the ideal western type American girl, and is a person who will represent rodeo wherever she travels.

What does it mean to be Miss Rodeo NM, Teen, Princess, or Little Miss?
a. The girl who wishes to be a leader in her community and further promote the western way of life on a local, State or National basis when the occasion permits.
b. The girl who loves horses and everything they represent, and who wants to show the rest of the world what can be accomplished while surrounded by this environment.
c. The girl who wants to act as an official representative of professional rodeo and other bona fide rodeos, portraying good sportsmanship and high moral and ethical character, and reflecting careful and humane treatment of animals. She should understand the sport of rodeo in its entirety enough to be able to "sell" rodeo to anyone with whom she may come in contact. She should be able to communicate intelligently and with dignity and sincere interest for our sport. She should realize that the Miss Rodeo New Mexico Pageant is not a "beauty" pageant. However, she should act, speak and dress according to the prestige the title deserves. She shall wear appropriate attire at all times when she may be seen by the public, and not be seen wearing "fad" type clothing, exposing skin, etc.
d. The ambitious girl who is interested in furthering her chosen career.

How can I become Miss Rodeo NM, Teen, Princess, or Little Miss?
To compete in the Miss Rodeo New Mexico Pageant, one must pay an entry fee, sponsorship fee, and meet the requirements set forth in the Official Rule Book. Entry fees and sponsor fees will not be refunded unless the particular age group competition is cancelled. *

* The Miss Rodeo New Mexico Pageant reserves the right to cancel competition in any of the three younger age groups if there are fewer than 2 entries in that group.
